چکیده
The aim of the authors is in conditions of clinical study to investigate the masticatory function in patients with different types of prostheses. Normal function requires the coordinated action of many elements, including teeth, salivary glands, tongue, and masticatory muscles. Dysfunction in any of these areas can result in impaired mastication. Missing teeth and old prostheses are concern to the patients and dentists and this can be a multifactorial problem that involves esthetics, phonetics, mastication and swallowing. The pilot study showed necessity of additional study of masticatory function.

Evaluation of qualitative characteristics of previous dentures in patients referred to prosthetic department of Tabriz dental school during 10 years
Background and Aims: Different materials have been used to make dentures during different years. Teeth used in making dentures should have appropriate physical and mechanical features to meet the needs of masticatory functions, meanwhile having desired beauty. The aim of the present study was to determine the frequency of previous denture material and f its form and the duration of use in patie...
متن کاملDynamic Modeling of the Electromyographic and Masticatory Force Relation Through Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System Principal Dynamic Mode Analysis
Introduction: Researchers have employed surface electromyography (EMG) to study the human masticatory system and the relationship between the activity of masticatory muscles and the mechanical features of mastication. This relationship has several applications in food texture analysis, control of prosthetic limbs, rehabilitation, and teleoperated robots. Materials and Methods: In this paper, w...
متن کاملEvaluation of Canonical Correlations between Masticatory Muscle Orientation and Craniodentofacial Morphology in 10-17 Year_Olds
Objectives: Different theories have been suggested to define factors involved in skeletal and craniofacial morphology. Many of these theories explain that the bone morphology is the result of the bone tissue capability to adapt in response to biomechanical forces exerted during growth. Also, it seems logical to hypothesize that there is a relationship between biomechanical connections of muscle...
متن کامل[A study of test food list in evaluating masticatory function for complete denture wearers].
The evaluation of the masticatory function as a whole is important in diagnosing TMJ dysfunction and in judging the effectiveness of various prosthetic treatments. As a simple method to evaluate the masticatory function in complete denture wearers, the types of foods that can be eaten commonly by patients are often asked at the dental chair side. In this respect, it is hoped to have more accura...

INTRODUCTION Premature loss of permanent teeth leads to stomatognathic system disability. It is a very serious but underrated problem for patients with chronic renal failure. The aim of study was analyse the degree of loss of masticatory function and number of teeth present for haemodialysis patients, and to define patients' needs for prosthetic treatment, which could restore correct occlusal c...
